==Background==

Barbalet was born in Adelaide in South Australia in 1976. He spent most of his childhood in Canberra, Australia.

He launched Noble Ape in 1996 when he was staying in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

In 1999, he moved to the San Francisco Bay Area. He lived there until 2001 when he moved to the UK, initially arriving in Leicester but shortly following moving to Wilmslow, Cheshire.

In 2005, he moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. He lived there until 2011 when he moved back to the San Francisco Bay Area.

==Development Philosophy==

Barbalet has maintained Noble Ape working on it for a couple of hour to about ten hours per week for a majority of the development since 1996. For a majority of the development, Noble Ape has been an ''after hours'' passion project.
